I I have over 30 years of experience in photography and media arts. I graduated
from Fanshawe College, London Ontario with a diploma in audio & visual arts specializing
in photography, in 1983. Over the years, I have experimented in video and audio
projects but have always come back to my real passion, photography. With a camera
I can show what I really feel and sense when discovering the outdoor world.
One of Canada’s greatest photographers, Freeman Patterson, in his book Photography
and the Art of Seeing describes “seeing, in the finest and broadest sense, as using
your senses, your intellect, and your emotions. It means encountering your subject
matter with your whole being, looking beyond the labels of things and discovering
the remarkable world around you.”
I met Freeman Patterson in 1981 and he motivated me to go beyond the easy ‘grab’
shot and find the inner beauty of my subject matter. It was a defining moment in
my photographic career.
I hope you enjoy my images as much as I like producing them. The feedback of others
encourages me to find new and unique shots.
My framed images are on display and available for purchase throughout the year at
the Mad & Noisy Gallery in Creemore, Ontario.
